My family has gone across the pond twice to visit the United Kingdom. During our first trip in 2006 we stayed right next to Piccadilly circus in London. Our second time we traveled around the UK, seeing Wales, Baths, and several other towns. There was so much for us to see in each place we stopped. My favorite city was of course London. It is such an incredible place with so much history. I'm certain I'll return again some day, and hope I can see even more of the UK when I do.

The colorful streets of Rochester

The colorfully decorated streets of Rochester put us in the holiday spirit, as our second trip to the UK was during Christmas break. We saw the view from the White Cliffs of Dover, where on a clear day you can see the coast of France. We traveled to the town of Bath, England. My family stayed a few nights there to explore the ancient Roman baths. We even got to see one of the original copies of the Magna Carta at Salisbury Cathedral.

I managed to bring along an attachment for my iPhone camera, allowing me to get some quality shots. I love the architecture on all of the cathedrals, and we were fortunate enough to experience a Christmas Day sermon inside the famous Canterbury Cathedral.

What would a trip to the UK be without visiting Stonehenge! My family went to see one of the most famous tourist attractions in the world, and it was certainly a profound sight sitting there in the middle of the English countryside. It was a beautiful day out with clear blue skies, which made for some great pictures.

I have to say though, some of my favorite moments on the trip were just simply driving to and from each city, and seeing the expansive rolling hills filled with green pastures and cattle. I made my dad stop the car to pull over for pictures on several occasions.

Being atop the London Eye, riding around the underground, shopping at Harrod's, and seeing the guards pace around Buckingham Palace. All of these memories make London forever one of my favorite cities.
